View Full Version : World War One Games?

I've been playing Medal of Honor: Allied Assault lately and i love it but I was just wondering why there aren't any WWI games of the FPS type. I am sure there are Strategy games with WWI, but it would be cool to have an FPS and be able to use weapons like the Lee Enfield and Lewis Gun, and fight battles in trenches. Are there any around?

Hmm I don't thinks so but could be wrong, The problem or good thing would be the limited weapons choice but still would be great, Watch out for the mustard gas :cool:

I dont think that there is a standalone game out, but I think there is a mod for Halflife that encorporates WWI...
Thing is I cant remember what its called..

Not that DoD mod or something is it, Mall? Can't remember what the DoD stands for.

Can't think of any standalone WW1 games either. Not surprising though, a lot of games are developed in America, and America was useless in WW1 ;)

Day of Defeat is WW2 isn't it?

WW1 game would be a downer.. u sit in a trench and get shot at.. and occationally there's shelling...

I know they're making an alternate history game where WW1 never ends..so everything is a strange mix of WW1 & WW2 can't remember the name though

LOL kgrandpa I hate to say but you are correct, I guess that is why they do not talk about WW1 much just all WW2 :cool:

Mork: America were pretty useless in WW2 though as well ;)

They want to start doing what us Brits have always done, and joined in with wars right from the very beginning (assuming that it wasn't us who declared the war in the first place!)

And no, I don't agree with Bush's plan to attack Iraq :)

I had a feeling that was probably why there wasn't any games about WWI, because the American developers are more interested in WWII seeing as the USA played a bigger part. Oh well, I'd just be happy to use a mod that puts a Lee Enfield .303 into another game if possible. It's the best rifle ever. Actually it was still used in WWII but it was a more advanced model, Mark III or something.
