mx4000, check the request forum.
Yes this game is truley awsome... But i really want to wait for the purchase of a new graphics card before i play this to the end. Feels like i'm missing out on some nice graphics! :) I'm running a geforce 3 ti200 now. I'm playing Evil Genius now wich is also a cool game! :)

I've had it pretty much since it was released but I havent gotten around to playing it yet, I was never a big RTS fan.

This game is awesome, and AxezCore, it's actually more Turn-Based then RTS. The only RTS part is the actually fighting between troops and I have them simulate them anyways.

I went out and bought it after seeing all the screenies, and much to my horror it doesn't play!
I have a GeForce 5600 FX, and when I move the mouse on the menu the menu goes all funny (does this in Shogun: Total War and Medieval: Total War so wasn't too worried), but when I got into the game, the thing crashes to the desktop whenever you are on the map!
Here is a screenie I took of the menu so you know what I'm talking about.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I've got all the latest patches for everything, and just got a new sound card yesterday, still to test it with Rome: Total War as the CD is now at a friends place to see if he can run it.

No, just the Total War series, which really sucks, as next to Civilization III they are my favourite games :)
I will install the patch now and get my CD back off my friend tomorrow, hopefully the patch fixes it!
Will tell you how I go either way :)

Civilization III is my favourite game all time! I would love to find some people who are ready to play a huge multiplayer game... Some serious players

Yeah, I too liked Civ3 until I've nuked a frigate and it survived. When I thougt things couldn't get any worse the frigate has destroyed my nuclear sub. They *really* need to improve the combat engine.

I've been playing a ton of rise of nations TnP lately, this is might just take too much time away from that. If there are any Rise of Nations players around here still let me know if you want to game online, I'm looking for someone to give me some good gameplay advice.

Hi guys, turns out my problem was because of my Sound Card, I have onboard sound.
Over the weekend I saw these really nice speakers (which are retailing for $299) at a second hand place (they look new) for $50, and it had a sound card with it, some cheap and nasty Genius product.
After installing both, the game worked perfectly, AND I got to see the in-game movies that I didn't see before, they are so cool! :D
Anyway, long story short, it's all going now, I'm SO happy, and I wasted all yesterday playing for 9 hours straight, it's so addictive, I love crushing the Gauls and Carthaginians with my Legions :D
(Who cares about Archers when you have a ratio of 10:1, it's just damned funny to watch as you walk slowly into them)
Roma Invictus!

Yup, RTW definiety rocks. Each battle has its possibilities... especially with unfavourable odds. Back to the barbarian crushing.
