Hey boys and girls!

I got a Toshiba Laptop with a Geforce 4 440 GO with 28.46 drivers on windows XP, I know thoses drivers are old but it seems to be the last one supported by NVIDIA, do you guys know if NVIDIA abandonned putting out new detonator drivers for this card? is there ? I've heard there might be a some new drivers coming out for windows ME that will support the Go card, that really confuse me, why bringing out drivers for ME and not XP??

Thanks!

I've just checked out the nVidia page and it doesn't look like the latest drivers support the Go cards.

However, it says to contact the manufacturer of your notebook, so perhaps you should contact Toshiba. They can probably give you the advice you need.

Yes I would hassle Toshiba also. Are the drivers you you have giving you trouble?

check guru3d.com -- go to their forums and ask some questions there. They're all gaming/graphics nuts over there. Usually, you can't go wrong with the 28.xx series -- i've always had the best results with them on my GF2Ti -- until the 40.xx came out.

check guru3d.com though... good info there, and their drivers section has every det. driver released, including interim leaked ones - that don't make NVidia's page. Also, they have a bunch of tweak tools and stuff like that.

I use the 30.30's from here:

You have to entirely remove the old drivers before install!
As far as laptop drivers go, you can't use official dets since they are not optimized for lappy vid cards. Usually your manufacture's tweaked nvidia drivers work great but aren't the latest. YOu're stuck with that and dell is just the same. The 40.41's modded lappy drivers are not working well so just wait a bit. The ones I posted work nicely for me - 28.35's are also good.

Thanks for the replys! :D

I don't have problems with my drivers, but if new det drivers would increase just a tiny bit of performance I'd like that :)
my friend got a Dell laptop with the same video card, basically the same specs, and his performance is better than mine, I can really see a diffrence, probably there's nothing I can do but it kinda just puzzles me you see ;)
Thanks alot for the websites links, I'll check it out and test thoses drivers available, and I'll also send an e-mail to Toshiba to see if they know something, can't believe I didn't think of doing that earlier! well Thanks again!

I have the same problem Oli... I have a toshiba laptop at work and it has older drivers and I cannot update with the dets. I am still trying to find something and Toshiba says they have no reason to update since these drivers are stable....

I'll let you know if I find anything else

look at my post cgun99 :o
Neither Toshiba nor Dell work overtime at putting out the latest drivers for vid cards - you're just gonna have to deal with it or get the drivers I posted.
