Hi Folks,

The demo is nearly ready to go. It should be out sometime within the next few days. Keep watching this space (the stickies) for an announcement. When it's ready we'll just be releasing it randomly to a few major sites so that hopefully it will spread like wildfire and everyone will be able to get it from their favorite games site. There won't be any special exclusives or anything like that. We want everyone to be enjoying it the minute it goes live.

More details to follow, keep watching this space.

Found it here (http://ina-community.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=201466)

:D

Excellent news. UT has only left my Hd for about 2 months since it came out, so im really looking forward to the new one.
And Bane, if your pc is even remotely fast it shoudl be ok. I tried the leaked one a few months ago and it ran silky on my 1 gig athlon with a gf2 ( upgraded the graphics card since, to a gf4), and you can bet theyve optimised the code since then:)

Thanks for the heads up.

I wont have time to play the demo, because I will be too busy playing a good game...bf1942.

UT2003, is just ut with better graphics. DM and cft sucks

I'd also prefer waiting for the full. But if it takes to long I'm gonna demo my PC broke ;)

i have the 927 beta, and ir runs like crap on my 500 celly, keep in mind i only get 2000 3dmark and ut is usually processor based. i put it on an 1800xp with a geforce 3, and it ran perfect. so anything 1 ghz+ with a geforce 2 gts pro or better should run fine

I played the beta version loads, until it stopped working on my comp, so am looking forward to the 'proper' version.

There were some areas where my 1.4Ghz with a GF2 Ultra & 512Ram suffered some serious slowdown, but I would probably account that to the fact that it was a beta version.

I've had build 927 for a while now and runs pretty good on my comp (most of the time) usually at around 60-70 fps on just about every map

I too have been waiting for this demo since it was first announced as "ready to release" a while back!

With a bit of luck it'll run fine on my aging system.

What's happening with Duke Nukem forever by the way? Is there any news about that?

(A bit off the topic I know but mork reminded me of it)

Not to be boring but the demo is already out for few weeks on the scene ;) (not officially but...:p)

The Scene version is not the official demo. It runs on version 927.

daddy_fizz

the demo probably runs a little smoother but if you can build 927 then why not? 927 has lots more levels, etc then the demo....

The official demo will be far more optimised for lower end PC's. The version out now prob. runs at half the speed of the full demo.

lets hope the demo is much better than the 927 build

now that the week is almost over where is it goddamned?

that`s right. another prob is the balancing from weapons and personaly i hope, that the final release is much greater than the beta.

well i have to admit...even though it is only 2 levels it is a pretty sweet demo...you can really tell the better balance with weapons and the physics engine is amazing, especially when you kill someone and watch their body fall down! runs pretty sweet at 1024x768 on asbestos around 100fps + !! :D

Dont tease daddy_fizz, Im still in the queue:D

Sounds excellent. I played the UT demo(the first game) for about 5 hours non stop, and i can bet thisll be the same. Are te included maps both new ones, or updates from the old UT? As much as Id like all new maps, I still enjoy a bit of team DM on MOBEUS!!

The two included maps are all new as far as I can tell (it's been a while since UT came out :D). I'm seldomly astounded by games but this demo really rocks ! Awesome graphics (that run very fluid even on a mid-range system like mine (1.6Ghz + GF2 GTS), great physics and gameplay. My only problem is the speed... It plays like Quake 3 on crack , so I mostly shoot first and look later :D

portisnine
09-14-2002, 02:19 AM
New maps, cool. I expect the old ones will be converted anyway.
Faster than quake 3?!?!?!? Damn. One of the things i prefered about UT was the slightly slower pace, but if i remember right you could adjust the gameplay speed anyway. Hopefully theyll keep that for the new one

22 more minutes of queuing and I can DL!!!

Yeah, just got it, played it and loved it :) The graphics are great, I like the speed, the weapons, everything ... perhaps this one combined with version 927 levels works ? I'll test it as soon as I have v927 ...
And we have a LAN-Party soon !

Get this demo ! (BTW I didn't have to wait and got decent speed at some official mirror from h**p://www.unrealtournament2003.com)

Greetings,
Luzipher.

damn i wish i had a better pc... atleast gfx card so i could play it

currently running a duron 900, gf2 32mb, 256RAM

Bane39
09-14-2002, 04:47 PM
hell, that's a better system than I've got.. and I'm running it smoothly at 1024x748 with detail set to like normal or something

kgrandpa
09-15-2002, 01:50 AM
I've got an Athlon 800, GF2-MX200 64MB, and 448MB RAM.

It runs like shit on anything above 640x480, and even then I have to turn details down and shadows off etc.

Still, I wasn't expecting it to run as smoothly as UT!

I love the game though, can't wait for the full release! :)

MudPuppy
09-15-2002, 09:55 AM
It runs smooth @ 1024x768, everything at max. on my P3-1Ghz with a Geforce 4 Ti4200. Didn't try higher resolutions since I'm using a TFT now.
