I wonder if anyone of you has tried out this OS
I heard it will be based on Linux but will support Windows executables without an emulator
would be cool to see some screenshots of the standard GUI too

Not worth to check it out imho.
It's just some generic Linux with preconfigured wine. Until now only few windows applications run without problems....

essentially, yes... the only thing i've heard that it runs stably is Office... and even then it's not that great. And why bother when you have 24000 office suites avail. for free.
Also, am i right in thinking that this is going to be a commercial only product... as in -- only SOLD in stores and the website. Because it's made up of "freeware" (for lack of a better term that won't come to mind) shouldn't it be avail. for free under the whole GPL or GNU or whatever that acronym is :D???

It's called the GNU GPL which is short for 'GNU General Public License' where again GNU stands for 'GNU's not Unix' (yes, it's recursive :) ).

im running it in a virtual pc, and it runs fine. nothing big. just linux with kde. usues wine to run windows programs. if u havent tried linux b4, it an ok one to try, because it like a happy medium. but its nothing special.

i've heard about it, but I'm wonder what is the advantage of bypassing an Unix based kernel into a single-user kernel ...
