PS2 or XBox...?

Ok guys I need some help here, I have the chance to buy a PS2 or XBox both at reasonable prices, I don't know which way to go...so help me make a decision on which console I should get

i would probably go for the ps2, as a plethora of the xbox titles will be available for pc sooner or later, too. if you dont want to miss out on a lot of good titles, choose the ps2. :)

I would check out the game titles available for each and see which one has the game types you would like. It is for the kids right ;-) hehe :cool:

Of these two IŽd go for the Xbox as it can do a lot more than PS2...but if i had free choice iŽd go for PC only or perhaps Gamecube...

I'd go with both.. but then I'm just greedy.. go for an Xbox.. the controller'll destroy your hand, but it's bigger than a PS2. Yes, size does matter :D

But since there is no third option I recommend the PlayStation 2 over the X-box, husky.

Depends on the games you like, check out the range of games available and base your decision on that. That's what the consoles worth comes down to.

oh the age old question...I say go with the system thats easiest to test..... and where is nhl hitz for the pc...wish that was available... I'd say xbox

I think we are going for an X-box. One of my kids really, really, really wants one. He just loves Halo but we'll have to wait until grades come out :) Anyays, he's still hooked to multiplay action in Wolfenstein heh.

get the xbox babe... I have one - and i love it.. get it chipped and ur able to watch divx, svcd and vcds... games are just as good as PS2 and gfx & sound is much nicer.. about the controller being big.. - some company allready made one for the smaller hands - ask Spike_UK wich one cuz he allready has one... - yep he got it becuz hes a skinny little spoiled kid... but u cant hold that against him :D

I ended up getting both myself. Ive put more hours on the PS2 because of the large selection of games. I like the xbox more though...just cant wait till some better games come out. Oh yea, system link is great and soon xbox live will be even better.

i went for the ps2. i wouldnt change my decision either. i like playing the final fantasy games and you cant do so on xbox.

Yeah, the Japanese controller for the Xbox is a lot smaller, but I find the normal-sized one just as comfortable. Project Ego is going to be the greatest game ever.

Get the XBOX, it is a great console and you do have the option to buy the smaller S controller if you don't like the one that comes with the machine.

I also got a chance to play MechAssault a week ago on a development XBOX and it was great. It may be one of the next "must have" games in my opinion.

hehe - haven't got the x-box down here yet (not unless you import it - but there are no games :D ) so I would say the PS2. One thing the PS2 has in it's favour imho is it's a sexy wee machine - you know! It just looks gooood.

I would go for an Xbox. I thought about buying a console myself, and I decided that *if* I bought one in the near future, it'll be an XBox, simply because of it's ability to play DivX, so it can also serve as a stand-alone player... :) Also there are some great games like Halo.

Probably the Xbox, PS2 has more and better games at the moment, but the Xbox is gaining ground and by the this christmas you should be able to find plenty of quality titles. Not to mention the Xbox has much better hardware.

If you want great gameplay and still very good graphics get PS2. Yes Xbox has great gfx but its not like PS2's graphics suck they are very good as well. Plus they have alot more better exculsive games right now and in the future. How can you complete with games like Grand THeft Auto 3, Final Fantacy 10 and soon 11 (MMORPG),Gran Turismo 3, Devil may Cry, SOCOM: Navy Seals (Online), Dark Cloud (if you love Zelda from N64) Metal Gear Solid 2, Red Faction 2 (yes Halo can compete with it), Stuntman, Ace Combat 4. these are just a few i can think of of the top of my head there are many, many more great games. In the end. If you are looking for the better games PS2 is the way to go. and it still has good gfx.

XBOX for sure dude. I just picked one up. I got the Enigma chip and it plays Divx. It kicks ass dude.
