View Full Version : Planescape: Torment owners [not dl request]

I have recently managed to get this after a LONG time searching. However all the bin files i have dled (came as bins, no rars) when checked came up with a bunch of errors. However all the files isobusted properly, and then i burned them to cd. I installed it and that worked fine.

But then when i try to play i either get a program crash box (win98 style, gotta use it, dont like xp) or a msg from torment itself telling it has an assertion on line 878 (which www.interplay.com seems to think is likly a corrupted file)

SO what i have been leading to in a long way is: Can someone get their cds, copy them to the harddrive, and make a sfv file from them and post that here.

Why did you use isobuster to extract the files ? Didn't the .bin files come with corresponding .cues ? Even so, most burning programs can burn .bin files correctly without a .cue if you provide the right track info. For a simple game this is MODE 1 Blocksize 2352 in most cases.

isobuster will extract files from corrupted .bins, too.

I didn't doubt that. It's just that some copy protection use read errors to mark the original disc and they could very well be part of the image (he didn't say that the files wouldn't burn/mount properly). Visser, maybe you could try to run the update (from here http://www.interplay.com/interact/downloadlist.asp?Dltype=3 ) and hope that it overwrites the file that causes the error.

that could likly be my problem. As the game comes from 1999 i doubt it would use that sort of protection and anyway the bin doesnt record/reburn the bin errors correctly so you can use it without the crack (which is why you want clone cd)

Oh and even worse im missing 2/3 of cd 3 :( The place where iw as getting it has gone down and the guy whos runs the ftp has gone missing, and he also told me that he checked the bin files with no errors (i havnt been able to find out what prog he used)

The reson i was asking for the sfv files (someonme can make their own) is so that i can check whether the isobusted files are correct or not.

I saw this game for like $15 cdn.. that's like $2 US dollars :D (brand new) so if u really have that much trouble u might consider just buyin it

Watch out for the 2cd version, I bought that one and it plays fine for about 4-5 days then begins randomly crashing to the desktop. I've seen this problem on numerous boards, but it seems interplay is refusing to acknowledge the problem.

I copied the origionals for this game when it came out and if i remeber rightly the 2nd cd took a couple of goes.....

Yeah, it was a cool game... i almost liked it better than baldurs gate 2. I just tired of it after reinstalling it for the 3rd time. Gotta love that morte.

I bought this game for something like $2 (plus shipping) so i cant possibly imagine why you dont want to buy it since getting cd's are even more expensive.

You havent filled in location but im talking about Sweden here .... im sure someone else can help you in some other country.

Im also pretty sure that doing a bin/cue/sfv for it sint gonna work very welll (atleast not for me)
