IIIIK! ... this game is one of the worst examples of buggy games in modern time ... it suxx it suxx it suxx .. but its still fun :)

believe me .. BEFORE you start playing install the 1.21 patch or you wont get anywhere.. or preferably wait about 6 months until the patches are somewhat done , and then start playing it .. maybe it will be playable without BSODS :)

Its too bad really cause it could have been a really good game.

What's even worse are they bugs that they probably won't ever fix. A lot of the game doesn't follow 3E D&D rules properly. For example, you can knockdown creatures that you shouldn't be able to (dragons, for example), you can sneak attack in melee, the max dex bonus on armour is taken too literally, and restricts everything that allows your dex mod to be added to, instead of just AC, the list goes on. Makes me wonder if they even read the D&D books. Let's hope IWD2 is better.

I not only like it, I love the damn game. I got a server running and me and some old game'n buds play at least once a week. So far all we have done is a few of the classic conversion modules but we have a freaking blast! I also have a teamspeak server running and it's almost like sitting around a table together. For the record, my comp has never crashed :D but those guys who aren't running XP have ;)

are too .. well not really patches ... but addons

there are several addons available for morrowind ... both official and unofficial

the swampsounds addon is a musthave to experience the game at maximum.

btw morrowind totally rock .. nwn does not :)

You're right Riv but the attack of opportunity is pretty cool. But yeah, I was in the prison with my theif and we were fighting this guy and my theif just kept on sneak attacking him, right in front of the guy in plain view. How do you hide in shadows when the enemy is not only looking at you but also fighting you. Its stupid that way.

Doesn't matter now though, after installing the latest patch I can't even get past the load-up splash screen.

BTW, IWD2 uses 3rd Ed right? Then hopefully they can make it work better than NWN.

I enjoyed Morrowind for awhile but after I reached 10th lvl or so the game just lost it's appeal for me and well there's no multi-player :p NWN shines when your playing with a group.

As far as i have witnessed there is no 'sneak attack' if your character is actively engaged with another but if the bad guy is engaged with another party member you can sneak attack until focus switches back to the thief. I'm always a dumb grunt so maybe I'm not paying attention.

I was going to get this game...but then I didn't after what I read

It's a shame that they didn't include a good story in NWN. I understand that it's focus lies on multiplayer but still, I got bored with it after the second chapter. Same with Morrowind to be honest. Technically awesome games that just don't have the power to glue me in front of the monitor due to the lack of involvement with the characters. Bah, nothing beats Planescape Torment ;)

I'm not too far into the game, I finished the prison brake thingie and am now looking for the guy with the auction.. But so far I liked it. I didn't have any problems with BSODs or crashes, everything worked fine.

I have to say that I really enjoy NWN. I went out and bought it as well, but I haven't had very many problems with it. It crashed to windows once or twice before they fixed that saving bug (When it woul autosave) but I've never had it BSOD on me. Are you guys that have it crash using XP?

I got pretty bored with Neverwinter playing it solo...I just got DSL though so hopefully I'll be able to try it out multiplayer now :) Never had a single problem with the game BTW (using XP)

I've enjoyed the game overall. Have to admit though, it was buggy as hell at the beginning. I had to break down and get a new soundcard just to keep the thing from crashing - Had to do it sometime, just hate that I was coerced to some extent.

It's a pretty boring game so far and I have had heaps of lockups. I find it hard to believe Bioware would make such an average game. I'd rather play Baldur's Gate I than this. Why is there so much hype about this game? It has been top RPG at E3 twice or something. Why???

Simple it's a multi-player game. The single player aspect was just tacked on.

singleplayer campaign of NWN is a lot better the the multiplayer, even diablo2 multiplayer is much better. I have expected more from it...

Come on, it is one of the most average games I have ever played, I am glad I did not buy it, I would buy Morrowind, however, in fact I did, it is one of the best. Neverwinter Nights is like an Rpg for 5 year olds.

I haven't had any major problems with the game crashing. The main bugs I've encountered seem to be scripting issues, where henchmen (especially Tomi, the rogue) get stuck. As far as the game goes, the single player campaign doesn't exactly set the world on fire with its creativity, but I guess that was never a top priority. The opportunities for multiplayer games and for additional single-player modules are where it's really strong - you can find whatever type of game you want it to be, from pure hack'n'slash through to character-oriented role-playing. I think the game certainly has its flaws but it's one of those ones that will keep a solid player base for a long time.
