is there a software that enables you to build lego models on your comp? like you can use all the parts like in reallife and can mess around with them.

first and foremost, there's ldraw (http://www.ldraw.org/), which is the most popular program of its kind - lots of utilities and front-ends available for it, too.
other programs, like mlcad (which seems to be discontinued nowadays) or blockcad (http://user.tninet.se/~hbh828t/proglego.htm) provide alternative means of fiddling with those little blocks.
while both of these programs are freeware, there is of course a commercial software available from the lego company itself: it's called lego creator, but is more aimed at kids than sophisticated lego lovers. :)

I had Lego Creator, it was horribly restrictive, I used it a little and then quickly returned to the real things. IMO, you'd be better off to go with a more powerful app.

I miss those days too... I had also a ton of lego-bricks and I used to build big yachts of them together with a freind of mine... Those were the days... I still should have my old bricks somewhere... perhaps...

Aah, the good old days. I remember way back in 1997 building a little self-guiding robot using only a lego set and a PIC chip :)

*scoots off to ldraw.org* :)
