Open your eyes ;-)
- Create and control the most life-like metropolis you can imagine
- Take your Sims from "The Sims" into your SimCity
- Dispatch police cruisers to fight crime, send out the Mayor's limo to quell a rioting mob, or cap an erupting volcano threatening your citizens
- Form mountains, carve valleys, plant forests, raise oceans, and more
- From mellow traffic flow to commuter hell, noontime crowds to nighttime calm, partygoers to troublemakers, the movement in your city is ever-changing and unpredictable
- complete 3d graphics, rotatable, zoomable

If you’re talking about AOD’s release, it’s nuked (beta).
You’ll have to wait tell next week for the final.

The screens look nice, but it'll amost certainly use the "Fisher-Price" kiddie-style interface like SimCity 3000/The Sims. Thats a major turn off for me. Probably one of the reasons I don't like Windows XP.
I preferred the toolbars in SimCity 2000. I'm all for functionality in game interfaces, not for pretty looks.

hey, kgrandpa, you opened my eyes ... I loved SC2000, and I really couldn't wait to play 3000, but it was just not like 2000 and I never did a big city in it. I never knew why, but now I think it was the interface ...
I visited the SC4 website as soon as I saw it was released (although nuked - didn't know for what reason) and I fear it has the same interface as 3000 ...
Whatever, I still hope I like it :) At least I like WinXP (but for it's stability, not interface :) just a single bluescreen in 1 year)
Greetings,
Luzipher.
looking forward to this :)
ps..kgrandpa, you can change the winxp layout to 'classic view'..
i too hate the kiddy style

coil: Yeah, I know about the classic style in WinXP but then I refuse to use it on principle of it being virtually no different to 2000 :D
And there are plenty of other things in XP that have been "kiddified", like making network connections and stuff. Dumbing things down too much makes things more likely to go wrong if you are used to doing it another way.

Not very often I get games these days but think i'll be getting that :D

psychoace: I'm a functional sort of guy, I don't like having fancy skins on anything. I try and avoid skins like the plague. The only exception is Winamp and thats because I think the default skin looks fugly :D
I'm really looking forward to this. It looks like lots of work have been put in it.

This game is alot better than the 2000 version which is the last version i played. It automaically places roads when you designate an area for commercial, industry ect. The trainer from deviance also helps with the fun factor, u can never have too much money:)

It automatically places roads? Aww shucks, thats half the fun! Getting up the transport department's nose by showering the city with useless roads! :)

Thanks for the clarification EviDenCe, there is all sorts of commotion about that bonus cd. I thought its crazy, since when is an addon for old trains and paddle wheels and stuff for a simcity game worth a whole cd???
